There is an organisation called Open Cinema. They basically seem able to show a film in any kind of venue, so it could be perfect for our village hall. The equipment, licensing, programming, marketing and ticketing are all taken care of through the organisation. Is any one keen to find out more and maybe set up a group to show films here? We already have a projector and a large screen in the Reading Room.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 12th April at 7.30 pm. Our speaker is Priscilla Frost who will be telling us about The National Garden Scheme.
We shall also be voting on our WI resolutions, details of which you can find on the WI website. The village is organising a Street Party to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday on Saturday June 11th, starting 3pm. The road will be closed so tables can be laid all along the street outside the Reading Room. We hope to have a band playing, lots of bunting criss-crossing the street and the Teas group of cooks making cakes and sandwiches. We hope you will all come. Tickets and flyers will be available soon. Tickets are £2.50 for an adult, and £6 for a family. Email this address if you would be up for helping on the day.
