We are having a picnic and Donkey Walk at Pennyhooks Farm on Sunday July 23rd starting at 11.30.
Any donations raised will go to help with the refencing of the donkey paddock for the 3 donkeys at Pennyhooks, For full details click here. The village barbecue is again going to be held in the Vicarage garden on Saturday, 22nd July from 5-8 pm. Look out for the posters around the village. We hope as many as possible will be able to join us. If you are new to the village, do come along and meet everyone.
Please let Pat (241632 or [email protected]) or Sylvia (241179 or [email protected]) know if you intend to come so that we can make sure we have plenty of everything! There will be cover but we hope the weather will be kind to us again, so that we can enjoy the garden. Oxfordshire County Council wants to make our built environments safer and more attractive places to walk and cycle. To enable this, 20mph speed restrictions are being used to help promote alternative modes of transport for local travel. Further details on how the council is considering making 20mph the new 30mph for Oxfordshire communities can be found here.
We're therefore asking for your views on the proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Great Coxwell, replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety in the process. The proposals are being put forward following road safety concerns raised by the parish, and form part of a countywide programme of works that seeks to deliver ‘a safer place with a safer pace’ for the residents of Oxfordshire. In light of this, please find the following consultation documents (see the link below):
The proposed Traffic Regulation Order is scheduled to be advertised in the Oxford Times newspaper today; Thursday 06th July 2023, and details are also available to view on the Councils consultation portal at the address below: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/greatcoxwell_20mph2023 As stated on the notice, any objections or other representations on the proposal should be submitted by Friday 28th July 2023. Please find below details regarding a planning application for an industrial estate at Wicklesham Quarry, which is still open countryside and agricultural land. If anyone wishes to comment, please note the deadline of 27 July. Anna Hoare David’s funeral will take place at St Giles church on Friday, 14th July at 2 pm. Gilly’s will be the following day, Saturday, 15th, at 11.30 am.
To help with seating arrangements it would be helpful if anyone intending to attend either or both services could let Pat (241632 or [email protected]) know in advance. Just to make sure that everyone is aware of the link to the livestream of Bar’s funeral at 10.30 am on Wednesday, at St Katherines, Exbury. It is being streamed to the Reading Room, but you can watch it at home using the following link:
https://www.funeralstreamingservice.co.uk/barabara-gilmour Password: Wednesday Revd Maureen has been asked to take the service. It is planned that there will be a memorial service here to remember Bar in September. Dear all,
Apologies, I should have sent this out already last week, but time has flown too quickly. Many of you know already about the concert, as the details were in the last programme. This will be another fabulous concert looking at the wonderful biographies of these two performers. Best wishes, Lynette Click here for details.
