Sally Hello Great Coxwell,
I’ve started a gentle Yoga class at the Reading Room on Tuesday mornings at 9:30AM. We are a small group starting to practice together and you are welcome to join. It will be open to beginners and those who may have injuries/chronic pain or limited mobility/flexibility but are still interested in practicing. We will use the chair for support in seated and standing postures(if needed). I hope it will be a nourishing activity for many in the community to enjoy. 😊 Cost: I offer sliding scale pricing for class passes - 5 class pass(£50-75) but I’m also happy for you to pay whatever you can afford as it’s for this lovely community. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to join. Rachel Wannerton 07928583879 [email protected] It is with great sorrow we have to report the death of Bill Haine of Restharrow, on Wednesday 27th July.
I am sending you all, a "big" thank you!! With your help I have managed to collect £5,836.49 a huge amount of monies which will be divided 50/50 between the Fire Fighters Charity and DEC Ukraine Appeal! Please see the poster below, that shows a "before" and an "after" picture! I am hugely grateful and humbled by your generosity - thank you everyone!
To all the winderful people in the village who contributed either by coming or donating to the charities I had named. We made over £2000 which will be equally divided
Following the success of last year’s Village Barbecue at the Vicarage, we will be holding another one on 23rd July from 5 – 8 pm. Do come and enjoy burgers, bangers and good wine (and puds!), especially if you missed it last year. Steve has very generously agreed to do the cooking for us again. We hope as many of you as possible will come.
If you are new to the village and want to meet fellow villagers, please come along. As the food for last year’s barbecue was given personally by PCC members as a welcoming gesture to Revd Maureen, we would ask this time for a donation of around £5 per person to defray the expense. It would be helpful so that we can ensure we have enough of everything if you could let either Maureen or Pat know if you are coming. We look forward to another lovely evening. Maureen 240875 or [email protected] Pat 241632 or [email protected] As some of you may know or not know, Pete passed away on the 2nd June at home after a short illness.
If anyone would like to pay their respects, the funeral is Thursday 7th July and we are leaving "The Laurels" with Pete at 12:15pm. You are all welcome to come to his Thanksgiving \ Celebration Service at the Faringdon United Church on the 7th at 3pm. Come in casual clothes please and stay for Tea and Cake afterwards. Bren Come and visit us at two forthcoming events to see some of the work Greener Great Coxwell have been involved with on Wilding and Natural History and get the latest on the Community Energy Project, Queens Green Canopy and Village Pump Restoration: NT Eco Summit this coming Sunday - 3rd July at Coleshill Faringdon Folly Fest - on 9th and 10th July
Golf Course Visit 9th and 10th July 11-15:00
The developer from the Golf Course Holiday Park (Noel Flanagan from Oakgrove Lodges) has invited anyone from the village who is interested to visit the site to have a tour and meet him. He's arranged two open days on 9th and 10th July between 11 and 3. He's very keen to have the village involved - he mentioned the papers so there may be marketing involved. Greener Great Coxwell PS There is a website faringdongrange.co.uk/ for the Holiday Park here |
